Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Industrial Engineer to lead factory design and layout for satellite manufacturing programs in the Greater Seattle area. You will translate product designs and rate targets into a scalable production system, applying Lean principles and advanced manufacturing concepts to enable high-volume, low-cost space vehicle production.

You will work as the primary IE liaison for DFMA, NPI, and production system teams, driving continuous improvement and data-driven decisions while

Qualifications

Minimum BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or a related field.
5+ years of experience in industrial/manufacturing engineering.
Experience with factory layout design and Lean Manufacturing principles.
Proficiency in process modeling, data analysis, and using Excel; ability to present data-driven business cases.

Responsibilities

Factory design and layout for assembly lines, integration cells, and test areas with safety and ergonomics in mind.
Analyze end-to-end material and information flow; create current and future state value streams.
Develop and maintain capacity models to determine production rate capabilities and inform capital planning.
Serve as the IE liaison for New Product Introduction (NPI); support DFMA analyses and manufacturing plans.
Lead continuous improvement and lean initiatives to improve quality, cost, and delivery.
Establish and report KPIs such as cycle time, takt time, first pass yield, and labor hours per unit.
