Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking an Industrial Engineer to design a satellite production system from the ground up, applying lean principles and advanced manufacturing concepts to support high-volume, high‑reliability fabrication.

You will translate product designs and rate targets into a physical and operational reality, leading DFMA analysis, process modeling, and capacity planning while coordinating with design and production teams to ensure smooth transition to full-rate production.

Qualifications

BS in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field.
5+ years in industrial/manufacturing engineering.
Experience with factory layout design.
Strong Lean Manufacturing knowledge and implementation experience.
Proficiency in process modeling, data analysis, and Excel.

Responsibilities

Design, model, and implement optimal factory layouts for assembly lines, integration cells, and test areas.
Analyze end-to-end material and information flow; create value stream maps to identify bottlenecks.
Develop capacity models to determine production rate capabilities and inform planning.
Serve as IE liaison between design engineering and production teams for DFMA and manufacturing planning.
Lead Lean initiatives (5S, standard work, kaizen) to improve quality, cost, and delivery.
Establish and report KPIs (cycle time, takt time, first pass yield, labor hours per unit).
