Job summary

nVent is opening a new manufacturing facility in Lexington, MN. We seek an Industrial Engineer to lead manufacturing systems design and optimization, enabling throughput, safety, and cost improvements across cross-functional teams.

You will drive advanced analyses, capacity planning, and NPI support, leveraging CAD, simulation, and data visualization tools to sustain performance and scalability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of progressive experience leading manufacturing, material flow, or facility optimization.
• Ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and drive Lean improvements.
• Experience using CAD tools to develop facility layouts and material flow concepts.
• Experience with production simulation software preferred.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt strongly preferred; PMP a plus.
• Advanced Excel; SQL experience is a plus.
• Experience using Power BI or Tableau for data-driven decisions.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and optimization of manufacturing systems to improve throughput and efficiency.
• Drive safety, productivity, and flow efficiency through data-driven analysis and Lean methods.
• Identify bottlenecks to improve material flow, cycle time, and WIP.
• Lead initiatives to reduce costs and improve resource utilization.
• Conduct time studies, capacity modeling, and simulations to optimize performance.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to improve quality and process capability.
• Lead and track continuous improvement with KPI impact on safety, cost, and time.
• Develop capacity models and resource plans aligning demand with production capability.
• Support new product launches ensuring manufacturability and scalability.
• Leverage ERP and data visualization to drive sustained performance.
