Job summary

AECOM is seeking a Senior Industrial Electrical Engineer to lead power system designs for large-scale manufacturing within our Advanced Manufacturing practice. This role coordinates facility electrical infrastructure, including utility interconnections, medium-voltage distribution, process equipment power systems, and reliability planning, with clients, utilities, vendors and multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering and 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70), NFPA 70E, NFPA 110 and IEEE power system standards.
• PE license, or EIT with ability to obtain PE within 24 months.
• Proficiency in ETAP or SKM, and Revit and/or AutoCAD Electrical.
• US citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Design medium- and low-voltage distribution (480 V to 35 kV) for high-load manufacturing facilities.
• Lead utility coordination and service planning with providers and interconnection studies.
• Perform and manage power system studies: load flow, short circuit, protective device coordination, arc flash and harmonics.
• Design power quality and reliability systems: UPS, voltage-sag ride-through, standby generation, paralleling generators, BESS and N+1 or 2N architectures.
• Design process and tool power, DC and formation power for battery lines, VFD and motor systems.
• Define hazardous area classification and design grounding/lighting protection.
• Prepare technical specification sections; support construction, testing and commissioning.
• Serve as client-facing technical lead and mentor engineers across disciplines.
