Job summary

TC Energy is seeking an experienced Incident & Emergency Management Specialist to join our team. The role may be based in Calgary, Houston, or Charleston, WV, and reports to the Manager of Incident & Emergency Management.

The successful candidate will provide senior-level technical leadership in investigations, preparedness, response, governance, and assurance across the enterprise, driving improvements and ensuring consistent program application.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Emergency Management, Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science or related discipline.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in incident investigation, emergency management, risk, process safety, compliance, or related field.
• Experience leading investigations and developing findings, corrective actions, and formal reports or knowledge of ICS structures.
• Experience conducting assurance reviews, audits, or management system evaluations.
• Ability to manage complex assignments with multiple stakeholders and sensitive information.
• Strong facilitation, critical thinking, writing, and communication skills.
• Ability to influence decisions and drive improvement without direct authority.
• Strong interpersonal skills for working with frontline employees to senior management.

Responsibilities

• Provide governance and SME for Incident and Emergency Management across units and regions.
• Develop and improve incident and emergency management frameworks, standards, and tools.
• Advise leaders on event classification, investigations, corrective actions, and lessons learned.
• Lead incident investigations, document findings, develop actions, and support lessons learned.
• Ensure consistent application of requirements through alignment sessions and program implementation.
• Share best practices and opportunities for improvement across the organization.
• Provide quality review of investigation reports and related documentation.
• Plan assurance activities, assessments, and effectiveness evaluations.
• Analyze incident data to identify systemic issues and priorities.
• Support preparedness through plans, training, and exercises.
• Mentor investigators and represent team in cross-functional initiatives.
