Job summary

CommonSpirit Health-based role for a Senior Occupational Therapist focuses on delivering in-home occupational therapy under physician orders. You will evaluate home safety, assess functional needs, and implement tailored treatment to promote independence.

The position requires a CA OT License, AHA BLS, and a strong background in in-home care with evidence-based practice and family education. The role serves pediatric to geriatric populations within a hospital-network setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher degree in Occupational Therapy required.
• Must have a minimum of 10 yrs as a practicing OT for part-time/full-time staff, including demonstrated teaching responsibilities & evidence of continuing education required.
• Casual per diem staff minimum of 2 yrs. experience required
• Part-time/full-time staff must demonstrate advanced clinical expertise in a specialized area required.
• New applicants must present documentation of continuing education or experience required.
• Upon annual appraisal, must demonstrate participation in external continuing education or experience required.
• CA Occupational Therapist (CA OT License) required.
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (AHA BLS) required.
• Fire Safety (within 90 Days of start date) required.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patients of varying diagnoses & disorders requiring Occupational Therapy according to established guidelines.
• Establishes functional goals in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team based on the patient's rehabilitation potential.
• Develops, implements & modifies treatment plan in collaboration with interdisciplinary team to achieve established goals.
• Provides patient/family education, initiating as soon as feasible after admission.
• Establishes/follows patient precautions and observes patient response to treatment.
