Job summary

Mercedes-Benz North America Corporation seeks a senior People Specialist & GFT - Immigration to lead U.S. immigration programs across MB US entities.

You will be the SME, coordinating with employees, People Consultants, Recruiting, managers, Legal, and the immigration provider to manage complex cases and drive improvements. The role requires governance, cost oversight, and a strong compliance mindset, with collaboration across multiple MB entities and Legal teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in business, Human Resources, Management, or a related field.
• 8+ years overall experience, including 5+ years in People Consulting, Shared Services, Mobility, Immigration, or related.
• Experience supporting U.S. immigration cases and working with immigration counsel or providers.
• Ability to analyze and interpret operational data, financial information, costs, and trends.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.
• Strong written and verbal communication, including senior leadership interaction.
• High degree of independent judgment, attention to detail, discretion and accountability.
• Ability to manage multiple complex, time-sensitive matters across entities.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the U.S. immigration subject matter expert and central process contact across Mercedes-Benz U.S. entities.
• Provide consultative guidance on immigration processes, policy interpretation, timing, cost, and risk considerations.
• Coordinate complex matters with the immigration provider and prepare recommendations for decision-makers.
• Support implementation and continuous improvement of the harmonized immigration operating model.
• Coordinate centralized intake, approvals, provider initiation, status tracking, deadlines and communications.
• Oversee operational support for employment-based visas, extensions, amendments, consular matters, and permanent residency.
• Manage urgent matters and escalations with the immigration provider while maintaining confidential documentation.
• Act as primary liaison among employees, candidates, immigration counsel, People Consultants, Recruiting, managers, and stakeholders.
• Monitor alignment with immigration requirements, privacy expectations, and governance standards.
• Stay current on regulatory developments and coordinate guidance with Legal and immigration counsel.
• Oversee immigration-provider service quality, responsiveness, and performance against service expectations.
• Identify operational risks and drive corrective actions with stakeholders and the provider.
• Coordinate internal communications on immigration trends and government decisions with the provider.
