Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a Senior Tech Lead to guide a Workforce Authentication and Authorization team. You will shape identity and access management strategy, implement zero-trust principles, and oversee secure cloud deployments on Azure and AWS.

You will mentor engineers and partner with IT leadership to deliver secure, scalable solutions. Ideal candidates have extensive experience in IAM, cloud security, and API protection, with strong communication skills to engage stakeholders and drive

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline and information security experience.
• Deep knowledge of application or infrastructure systems architecture with exposure to multiple technologies.
• Excellent consultative and communication skills interacting with clients, partners, and IT management.
• Ten years of information security experience; five years as a tech lead.

Responsibilities

• Lead Identity-centric Workforce Security solutions team to develop authentication and access management solutions.
• Drive development of identity solutions and modern security patterns (Zero trust, least privilege, defense in depth).
• Review and provide feedback on Identity and access management security solutions for stakeholders.
• Support Java microservices, React frontends, and mobile apps on Azure with secure practices.
• Provide expertise in token handling, OIDC/OAuth flows, and cloud security patterns.
