Job summary

Northern Trust is seeking a technical lead to guide a Workforce Authentication and Authorization team. The role focuses on identity-centric security, designing and implementing authentication, access control and governance across cloud and on‑prem environments.

You will mentor engineers, shape security architecture, and ensure best practices for Zero Trust, MFA, and identity federation while collaborating with IT management and business partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline or equivalent experience.
• Deep knowledge of architecture with multiple system technologies.
• Excellent consultative and communication skills for clients, partners, and IT management.

Responsibilities

• Lead Identity-centric Workforce Security solutions team to develop authentication and access management solutions.
• Drive development of identity solutions, access patterns, and modern security protocols (Zero Trust, least privileged).
• Review and provide feedback on IAM security solutions; consult with partners and IT management.
• Demonstrate hands-on knowledge of Entra ID, EPM, Sentinel, Azure, and AWS Security.
• Coordinate with stakeholders on Entitlement management, Okta, PingFederate and related tooling.
• Apply OAuth, OIDC, SAML, SSO, MFA, CA policies and secure identity federation across Azure AD and cloud apps.
