Job summary

Ladders is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Identity & Access Discovery to build backend systems that uncover and reconcile identity data at scale. The role emphasizes secure services and production-grade data workflows in a remote setting.

Responsibilities include designing a Python discovery engine and Java/Kotlin cloud services, plus collaboration with cross-functional teams to deliver secure identity intelligence solutions.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software development experience, especially backend systems.
• Strong Python proficiency; Java or Kotlin for backend services.
• Experience with distributed systems, APIs, and data-processing pipelines.
• Familiarity with Active Directory and/or LDAP systems.
• Knowledge of cloud IAM models like AWS IAM, Microsoft Entra ID, or GCP IAM.
• Proficient in secure software development practices, authentication, and encryption.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop a Python discovery engine and Java/Kotlin cloud services.
• Build systems to discover privileged accounts and related data.
• Solve identity correlation issues across multiple systems.
• Implement incremental re-scan and state-reconciliation capabilities.
• Create testing and diagnostic tools for code in non-debuggable environments.
• Design workflows that operate safely in production networks.
• Develop secure data-processing workflows aligned with a zero-knowledge architecture.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical design and feature delivery.
