Job summary

HDR is seeking a Senior ICT Designer to join our Building Engineering Services Group in a role that drives the design of ICT systems, including fiber optics and cabling, across diverse facilities. You will be responsible for construction documents and coordinating with project teams to meet client objectives.

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 10+ years in security system design, and familiarity with Autodesk.

Qualifications

• Experience in security system design and related engineering disciplines.
• Familiarity with Autodesk software used in ICT/security projects.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, select and apply state-of-the-art ICT system, techniques, procedures, design and modifications.
• Design and specify ICT systems including fiber optic backbones, horizontal cabling, bonding and cabling pathways.
• Take responsibility for the complete set of construction documents.
• Understand that assignments have objectives requiring investigation of multiple variables.
• Independently perform ICT engineering assignments with broad instruction from Project Manager.
• Select and recommend procedures, ICT devices and equipment; write specifications and review with owners as part of the project team.
• Assist other Designers, Project Coordinators or Technicians; work in all phases of the security design process.
• Conduct QA/QC on the work of others as needed.
• Perform other duties as needed.
