Job summary

Amazon Data Services, Inc. is seeking an ICT Design Engineer to join a global engineering team responsible for the physical layer design of AWS data centers.

You’ll develop pathway, space, and cabling designs and collaborate with suppliers to define product requirements and enable scalable, cost-effective infrastructure. The role offers growth in an innovative, collaborative environment with opportunity to review projects, travel to data centers, and contribute to high‑stakes designs used by AWS

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities (data centers, power generation, or oil and gas).
• 4+ years of commissioning experience.
• 2+ years of data center or mission critical facility experience.
• 2+ years of working with fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs and specifications.
• Review and approve ICT pathway, cabling and equipment submittals.
• Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
• Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time.
• Travel 20+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS' Data Centers.
• Have fun and offer creative, out of the box solutions.
