Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an ICT Colo Regional Engineer to help design and deliver scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs for our data centers. You will work with mechanical, electrical, and control engineers to provide pathway and cabling specifications for construction and permitting.

You will collaborate with industry suppliers, review submittals, and travel to AWS Data Centers to ensure infrastructure quality while balancing cost and installation time.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Experience in data center design, construction, operations, or facility maintenance.
• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
• 10+ years ICT design experience in Mission Critical Environments.
• 5+ years of developing design documentation for construction and/or permitting.
• 5+ years with fiber optic components, cabling, and interconnect products.
• BICSI RCDD Certification or internationally recognized equivalent.
• Professional Engineering (PE) Electrical License.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic & copper plant designs and specifications.
• Review and approval of ICT pathway, cable and equipment submittals.
• Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
• Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time.
• Travel 40+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS' Data Centers.
