Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an ICT Design Engineer to join a global engineering team focused on the physical layer in our data centers. You will develop pathway, space, and cabling designs, and engage with suppliers to define product requirements and emerging technologies.

This role emphasizes delivering scalable fiber optic and copper plant designs, coordinating with onsite teams, and advancing construction methods while contributing to cost reduction and schedule improvements.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
• 4+ years of commissioning experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
• Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
• Experience in commissioning.

Responsibilities

• Ensure timely delivery of scalable fiber optic & copper plant designs and specifications.
• Review and approve of ICT pathway, cabling and equipment submittals.
• Identify and respond to risks and high-priority issues rapidly and effectively.
• Support new technology and design activities that improve infrastructure quality, reduce cost and installation time.
• Travel 20+% to review projects and coordinate with onsite personnel and contractors at AWS' Data Centers.
• Have fun and offer creative, out of the box solutions.
