Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr Manager IC to own and operate merchant/advertiser data marts in production. You’ll ship new systems, standardize Iceberg migrations, and enforce data-access governance using Trino + CloudSentry.

This remote-eligible role emphasizes technical execution over people management, with weekly cross-team coordination. You’ll join the Analytics org reporting to Engineering leadership, contributing to data cataloging, GDPR/CCPA governance, and scalable lakehouse infrastructure

Qualifications

• 10+ years engineering experience with data platforms.
• 5+ years building shared data platforms / lakehouse infra.
• Experience migrating Hive → Iceberg at scale on revenue-attached systems.
• Standards-setting that multiple teams adopt (≥3 teams).
• Governance under GDPR/CCPA with PII-classification and audit trails.
• Experience shifting consumers off raw event tables to curated marts.

Responsibilities

• Own and operate data marts in production with migration code and dbt models.
• Lead Iceberg standardization and parity tests for privacy and auditability.
• Draft and enforce marts-first access policy using Trino + CloudSentry.
• Collaborate weekly with Sales, BizOps, Analytics on governance decisions.
• Provide production support and on-call coverage for data marts.
