Job summary

Capital One is seeking a Sr Manager IC to own and operate the data marts behind Merchant & Advertiser data in the Analytics org. You will ship three net-new systems in six months, defining standards, cataloging, and access policy in a production environment.

The role is remote-eligible with a focus on platform work, migration, and governance across multiple teams; strong collaboration with Sales, BizOps, and Analytics is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required; 6+ years software engineering experience.
• At least 1 year of cloud computing experience (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Experience leading Hive→Iceberg migrations at scale.
• Experience building or extending a data catalog used across teams.
• Data-access governance in regulated environments (GDPR/CCPA, SOX).
• Experience with merchant/advertiser data or retail-media data is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Spend ~65% building: Hive→Iceberg migration, catalog lineage, PII-classification, audit capture.
• Write dbt models and Airflow DAGs; implement access enforcement via Trino + CloudSentry.
• 65% building plus ~35% technical coordination with Sales, BizOps, Analytics.
• Own production support and on-call rotations for marts in scope.
• No direct reports; focus on delivering production-grade systems.
