Job summary

Client in Pleasanton is seeking a Sr. Full Stack Security Software Engineer IAM to design, build, and maintain secure IAM features for their cloud-based EHR platform. You will own authentication, authorization, SSO, MFA, and RBAC while enforcing HIPAA, NIST, and ISO 27001 standards.

You’ll collaborate with Product, DevOps, and Security teams in a fast-growing healthcare tech environment and work in a hybrid model three days per week.

Qualifications

• Strong Java development experience and Python proficiency.
• Expert in authentication and authorization frameworks (OAuth 2.0, SAML).
• Knowledge of HIPAA, NIST, SOC 2, ISO 27001 compliance requirements.
• Security best practices: encryption, key management, data protection.
• Experience building secure, full-stack apps with IAM components.
• Experience with SSO, MFA, and RBAC in distributed systems.
• Background in medium to large companies with adaptable mindset.
• Willing to work on-site three days a week in Pleasanton, CA.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain secure IAM systems for cloud-based products.
• Develop IAM features: user management, SSO, MFA, federated identity, and access delegation.
• Ensure HIPAA/NIST/SOC 2/ISO 27001 compliance across platforms.
• Build and secure RESTful APIs for internal and external integrations.
• Contribute to system architecture with a focus on scalability and security.
• Write clean, modular, testable code and participate in peer reviews.
• Diagnose performance issues across distributed environments (AWS, MySQL, Redis, Tomcat).
• Partner with DevOps to embed identity and security in deployment pipelines.
• Stay current on IAM trends and mentor engineers on IAM challenges.
