Job summary

Allstate Insurance Company is seeking a Senior Identity & Access Management (IAM) Engineer to design, implement, and support enterprise IAM solutions that secure critical applications across the organization.

You will lead design efforts, mentor team members, collaborate with security and IT stakeholders, and help ensure scalable, reliable access control, SSO, and federation across platforms.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience implementing, configuring, administering, or supporting enterprise IAM solutions.
• Hands-on experience with one or more enterprise web access management or IAM platforms (e.g., IBM Verify Identity Access, IBM Verify Access, ISAM, PAIC, Ping products, Okta, ForgeRock).
• Experience configuring or developing within vendor software to support access management, authentication, and secure application access.
• Experience implementing and supporting SSO, federation, and access management for enterprise applications.
• Experience writing automation scripts (JavaScript, Python, Groovy, YAML, PowerShell).
• Knowledge of SAML, OAuth, OpenID Connect, and federation concepts.
• Experience gathering complex business requirements and translating them into designs.
• Experience supporting module and integration testing, issue resolution, and production troubleshooting.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and document decisions.
• Experience with vendor support processes and product documentation.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and drive issue resolution.
• Strong analytical and communication skills.
• Mentoring and knowledge sharing abilities.
• Equivalent combinations of training and experience considered.

Responsibilities

• Support the design, configuration, enhancement, and support of enterprise IAM solutions with a focus on vendored platforms.
• Develop designs addressing complex business requirements, access needs, and security objectives.
• Configure and maintain IAM platforms supporting authentication, authorization, SSO, federation, and access control.
• Partner with stakeholders, security, infrastructure, owners, and vendors to deliver secure access solutions.
• Contribute to product planning by creating and guiding user stories for complex features and coaching team members.
• Facilitate feature review sessions; document key decisions and ensure cross-team alignment.
• Create functional designs addressing complex processes and integrations.
• Support testing and review of module, integration, and system tests.
• Manage issues, blockers, defects, and risks; drive resolution.
• Review vendor release features, assess impact, and identify improvements.
