xAI is seeking a Senior Identity and Access Management (IAM) Engineer to design, implement, and mature our enterprise IAM ecosystem. You will own end-to-end initiatives and act as a SME within the security organization, collaborating with Security, Infrastructure, Applications, and Engineering teams in a fast-growing environment.

This hands-on role emphasizes ownership and measurable outcomes, with responsibilities spanning federation, LCM, RBAC, PAM, automation with Terraform, and on-call

Qualifications

• 6+ years of hands-on IAM experience.
• Strong knowledge of Zero Trust, least privilege, ABAC, and ITDR.
• Expert in SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM and federation protocols.
• Hands-on with SailPoint, Okta, PingOne, and Microsoft identity solutions.
• Experience with AWS and GCP, Terraform, and CI/CD practices.
• Proficiency in Python and JavaScript/TypeScript for IAM workflows.
• Ability to lead initiatives from design through implementation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement enterprise IAM across on-prem, cloud, and SaaS.
• Architect federation strategies using SAML, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM.
• Lead integration of IAM platforms SailPoint, Okta, PingOne, Entra ID.
• Drive LCM, RBAC, PAM, and Just-In-Time access initiatives.
• Develop automation with Terraform for provisioning and governance.
• Mentor team members and provide SME guidance.
• Collaborate with InfoSec, Compliance, Engineering to meet audits.
• Improve IAM architecture and processes in a fast-moving org.
• Support cloud IAM strategies across AWS, GCP.
• Participate in on-call rotation and incident response.
