Job summary

Williams Companies, Inc. is seeking an Instrumentation & Electrical (I&E) Operations Technician II-Sr. to support safety-focused technicians and maximize equipment reliability across assigned facilities.

You will mentor teammates, solve complex problems, and implement improvements to instrumentation, electrical, and control systems. The role involves working with gas process equipment, system upgrades, and commissioning activities while adhering to technical standards.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years' experience in operations, engineering, or energy industry.
• Preferred: Associates or 2-year technical degree and 5 years' experience in operations, engineering or energy industry.
• Preferred: 5 years' Instrumentation & Electrical experience including troubleshooting, calibration, and maintenance, with low-voltage electrical work in industrial environments.
• Preferred: Experience with Allen-Bradley PLC systems, including programming, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.

Responsibilities

• Performs complex maintenance and operational tasks with natural gas process equipment and systems.
• Minimizes unplanned shutdowns through root cause analyses and corrective actions.
• Partners with supervisors to share findings with a focus on safety improvements.
• Maintains and fixes process control systems.
• Leads major system upgrades, control system integrations, and commissioning efforts.
• Mentors technicians and drives continuous improvement in instrumentation, electrical, and automation.
