Job summary

Clean Harbors in Deer Park, TX is seeking a Senior I&E Control Specialist to own and upgrade DCS/PLC/SIS systems, with a focus on safety and reliability. You will lead lifecycle management, migrations, and cybersecurity initiatives while coordinating across production teams to maximize system capability and minimize downtime.

The role requires deep hands-on experience with ABB 800xA and related platforms, DeltaV and Rockwell, and the ability to travel ~25% including Aragonite support monthly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, chemical, controls, automation, instrumentation, or related engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive control system experience in continuous process industries.
• Hands-on ABB 800xA and INFI 90/Symphony experience required.
• Strong knowledge of P&IDs, loop drawings, electrical/control narratives, and logic.

Responsibilities

• Lead safety, environmental compliance, and MOC for automation and control modifications.
• Own reliability and performance of DCS, PLC, SIS, HMI, and network infrastructure.
• Monitor system health, perform preventive maintenance, minimize downtime.
• Develop and optimize control strategies, alarms, and interlocks.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting for control systems, OT networks, and cybersecurity.
• Support SIS lifecycle activities and functional safety programs with I&E teams.
• Lead lifecycle management, migrations, upgrades, and cybersecurity initiatives.
• Manage control system assets, spares, vendors, and total cost of ownership.
• Maintain secure OT infrastructure and documentation (P&IDs, drawings, logic records).
