Job summary

Duke Energy in Charlotte, NC seeks a senior Discipline Engineering Manager to oversee a team of discipline engineers, ensuring rigorous technical reviews of contractor work and quality of engineering products across the project lifecycle.

The role requires broad power plant design knowledge, strong communication and leadership skills, and the ability to guide teams in both office and field environments. Hybrid work options and relocation support are available where applicable.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 10+ years of work-related experience in engineering.
• Experience in construction, commissioning or warranty phases.

Responsibilities

• Support and direction of the Discipline Engineering Staff.
• Assign work and set priorities for teams.
• Mentor and develop staff members.
• Set and enforce standards and expectations for staff performance.
• Provide input on complex technical issues and decisions.
• Assist staff with technical challenges during projects.
• Troubleshoot engineering issues arising during construction, commissioning or warranty periods.
• Provide basis and logic for technical decisions.
