Job summary

Duke Energy seeks a Lead Engineer to provide technical leadership across major projects, from scoping through performance testing and close-out. You will guide teams, ensure design compliance, and mentor colleagues while working in a hybrid setup with travel to plants and sites.

The ideal candidate has an ABET-accredited engineering degree, PE licensure, 8+ years of experience, and a track record in power plant design and project execution within the utility industry.

Qualifications

• Requires BS in Engineering from ABET-accredited program and PE licensure.
• Professional Engineer licensure active or current.
• Master's degree in Engineering will be considered in lieu of BS.
• 8+ years of engineering experience in power/utility projects.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex engineering efforts across major projects from scoping to close-out.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and non-degreed staff.
• Oversee design reviews, risk analysis, and performance testing.
