Job summary

Sargent & Lundy, a leading nuclear engineering firm, seeks an experienced Electrical/IC Design Engineer for its Nuclear Power Group in Michigan. The role supports design, modification, and analysis of instrumentation and control systems at the Fermi 2 site, with occasional travel to Newport, MI.

You will collaborate in a project team, review calculations, prepare specifications, and mentor less experienced engineers while ensuring client satisfaction and on-time, on-budget project delivery.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• Five or more years of I&C design engineering experience.
• Experience with equipment selection and the preparation/assembly of design packages, calculations and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Travel to the Fermi Nuclear Generating Station in Newport, MI on occasion.
• Work on instrumentation and control system design, modification, and analysis at the Fermi 2 site.
• Prepare and review detailed calculations for digital/analog controls.
• Interface with vendors to prepare equipment purchase specifications.
• Provide mentorship to less-experienced engineers and support the project manager to deliver on time and within budget.
