Job summary

Sargent & Lundy seeks an experienced engineer to design, modify, and analyze instrumentation and control systems for the Fermi Nuclear Generating Station in Newport, MI. Occasional travel to the site is required as part of project execution.

The role involves preparing requirements, procurement specs, and technical reports, while interfacing with clients to ensure successful project delivery and satisfaction. Strong communication and prior nuclear I&C experience are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or MS in Electrical, Mechanical, Chemical, or Nuclear Engineering from an ABET accredited program.
• 10+ years in design engineering of instrumentation and controls systems in a project team.
• Professional Engineering license preferred.
• Clear written and spoken communication skills.
• Experience liaising with clients and reviewing design documentation.

Responsibilities

• Travel to the Fermi Nuclear Generating Station in Newport, MI on an occasional basis.
• Design, modification, and analysis of instrumentation and control systems for the plant.
• Prepare control system requirements and procurement specifications for nuclear plant controls.
• Interface with clients to ensure project execution and satisfaction.
• Review diagrams, drawings, and vendor bids; witness FAT as needed.
• Support proposals and project implementation at client facilities.
