Job summary

SHINE Technologies is seeking an I&C Manager in Janesville, WI. The role leads a team of instruments and controls engineers and oversees electrical power distribution for the SHINE molybdenum-99 facility.

You will own safety classifications, design change control, and software QA for digital I&C systems. The position requires a BS in Engineering with 10+ years in instruments and controls, and experience in regulated environments.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering or related field; advanced education and/or related certifications are a plus.
• Ten (10) plus years' experience in instruments and controls; leadership of an engineering team preferred.
• Experience in regulated environments such as nuclear power or similar.
• Ability to lead, motivate, coach, and inspire engineers in a fast-paced startup environment.
• Familiarity with Agile and Waterfall project management.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of I&C and electrical engineers focused on control systems, instruments, and power supply design and installation for the SHINE plant.
• Mentor engineers in technology decisions and ownership of I&C equipment.
• Determine safety classifications and ensure designs meet independence, redundancy and safety criteria.
• Own design change control and configuration management for I&C and electrical systems.
• Oversee software QA for digital I&C, including verification, validation, and testing.
• Evaluate deviations and support corrective action and operating experience review.
• Develop project requirements, plans, schedules, and budgets aligned with priorities.
• Maintain team budget and schedule, predict milestones and resource loading.
• Drive vendor decisions and changes to equipment and programming.
• Oversee development of digital/analog control systems (DCS, PLC, DAQ) and instrument specifications.
