Job summary

St. Johns River Water Management District seeks an experienced hydrogeologist/hydrologist to lead advanced research and project design for hydrogeologic activities across 18 counties in northeast and east-central Florida.

The role involves evaluating geophysical data, managing well construction projects, and preparing technical reports. Strong GIS skills (ArcGIS) and mentoring staff are essential; Florida licensure is preferred.

Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in geology, hydrology, hydrogeology or related field and five years of experience in hydrology or hydrogeology; or registration as a professional geologist or professional engineer.
An advanced degree may substitute for a portion of the required experience.
Professional experience may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis.

Responsibilities

Evaluates geophysical and lithologic log data; produces interpretations and reports using GIS formats and applicable software.
Manages contractual well construction and maintenance projects, including contracts, timelines, budgets, and invoicing.
Processes borehole geophysical log data; supports field staff with data collection and database development.
Evaluates and interprets hydrologic and geophysical data; writes field and technical reports on hydrogeologic investigations.
