Job summary

Alabama Power is seeking a Project Manager – Level 6 to oversee Hydro Capital Projects at APC Hydro plants. The role covers engineering, procurement, construction, startup, and project controls, with travel to multiple sites and to the Corporate HQ.

You will define scope, budget, and schedules to achieve project goals while coordinating with internal teams and external resources. The ideal candidate has a B.S.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or other related field preferred.
• Experience required in project management as related to engineering, procurement, construction and/or startup.
• Ability to manage outside contractor resources
• Leadership role directing activities of direct reports or team.
• Power plant experience or prior assignments within a power plant is a plus.
• Experience with managing project scope, budgets, and schedules
• Experience with performance management.

Responsibilities

• Manage all project management aspects of Hydro Capital Projects at APC Hydro plants, including engineering, procurement, construction and startup.
• Develop and maintain scope, budget, implementation plan and schedule for each site to meet project goals.
• Coordinate with internal departments, plant personnel, and external interfaces; frequent travel to plant sites.
• Lead project teams and manage outside contractor resources to achieve objectives.
• Ensure safety, compliance and performance management throughout project lifecycle.
