Job summary

Southern Company Hydro Generation seeks a Project Manager – APC Hydro to lead capital projects at hydro plants, overseeing engineering, procurement, installation, startup, and controls. Location options include Logan Martin Dam, Lay Dam, or APC Corporate Headquarters, with frequent travel to sites nationwide.

The role reports to the Modernization Program Manager and requires a BS in Engineering, 5+ years in project management for engineering/procurement/construction, and strong leadership,

Qualifications

This role requires five or more years of engineering, planning or plant experience.
Experience managing scope, budgets and schedules on capital projects.
Ability to lead diverse teams and coordinate outside resources.
Strong verbal and written communication with internal teams and contractors.
Power plant experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Lead project management of Hydro Capital Projects across APC plants.
Own scope, budget, implementation plan and schedule for each site.
Coordinate engineering, procurement, installation, startup and project controls.
Ensure alignment with safety, compliance and customer expectations.
