Job summary

Alabama Power, part of Southern Company, seeks a Project Manager – Level 6 to oversee hydro capital projects at several APC hydro plants. You will manage scope, budgets, schedules, and implementation plans, coordinating engineering, procurement, contracting, installation and startup with multiple sites.

Based at Logan Martin Dam, Lay Dam, or APC Corporate Headquarters, you will travel frequently to all APC hydro plant sites and lead a strong, diverse team while ensuring project controls and

Qualifications

• B.S. in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Experience in project management related to engineering, procurement, construction and startup.
• Ability to manage outside contractor resources.
• Leadership role directing activities of direct reports or team.
• Power plant experience or prior assignments within a power plant is a plus.
• Experience with managing project scope, budgets, and schedules.
• Experience with performance management.

Responsibilities

• Manage hydro capital project scope, budget, plan, and schedule across APC Hydro plants.
• Coordinate engineering, contracting, procurement, installation and startup activities.
• Maintain appropriate project controls and implementation plans.
• Travel to all APC hydro plant sites is frequent.
