Job summary

Gulfstream Aerospace in Savannah, GA is seeking a Level 5 Hydraulics Engineer to lead complex hydraulic and fluid-system projects across design, integration, qualification and certification. You will have access to production aircraft, flight test operations and lab environments to guide decisions and deliver results.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, cross-disciplinary collaboration with suppliers, and involvement in new aircraft certification.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 13 years in a specific technical discipline, or 15 years across several technical disciplines.
• Experience credit for related advanced degrees: 2 years for a Masters and 4 years for a PhD.
• Proficient reading, writing, speaking and understanding English.

Responsibilities

• Lead engineering projects of significant complexity within established scope.
• Make authoritative technical decisions and recommendations affecting broader engineering activities.
• Apply advanced engineering principles to solve complex problems.
• Develop innovative engineering approaches, standards, methods and guidance.
• Independently identify opportunities to improve product performance, cost, schedule, methods and procedures.
• Plan and execute engineering investigations where precedents may be limited.
• Support hydraulic system design, including equipment installation, routing, qualification, and certification.
• Support fluid-system simulation and related design analysis.
• Collaborate with suppliers on joint design and qualification activities.
• Support aircraft certification activities and applicable requirements (ARP4754A and RTCA DO-160).
• Work with aircraft, production, flight test and lab environments to support design development and problem solving.
• Assist aircraft electronic integration considerations (CAS messages, GCMS, CMC pages).
• Perform other duties as assigned.
