Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Senior-Level Systems Engineer Project Manager for its Ashburn, VA office. The role blends on-site and hybrid work, requiring two days per week in Ashburn, with responsibility for planning, scheduling, and reporting on mission-critical software projects using Java and cloud technologies.

The successful candidate will lead remote teams, coordinate cross-team dependencies, and translate stakeholder requirements into actionable documentation for development and management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 9+ years of relevant experience.
• 9+ years in agile development projects – strong working knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• 5+ years of data analysis, requirements management and design experience; oversee milestones and write technical documents.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Familiarity with Java services.
• Experience with developers and data analysts.
• Experience with developing SELC documents.
• Proficiency with Jira/Confluence.
• Skills using Windows, Microsoft Office Suite and Atlassian tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day planning, scheduling, prioritizing, tracking and reporting for mission critical software development projects using Java and cloud technologies.
• Coordinate delivery of projects and manage dependencies with other project teams.
• Lead remote software development teams.
• Facilitate critical conversations between stakeholders including prioritization and conflict resolution.
• Work with business and solution resources to define, analyze and document requirements/user stories.
• Gather requirements from executives, clients and business analysts and translate into technical documentation for PM and development teams.
• Oversee business processes in a data-centric, mission-critical environment.
• Contribute to project scoping, including requirements assessment and development methodologies.
