Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks an Infrastructure Solution Architect to lead hybrid cloud design for a large DOS program, with emphasis on VMware, IaaS/PaaS, and IaC.

You will design, deploy, and govern infrastructure services across a hybrid enterprise while mentoring teams. Required are 8+ years of enterprise IT experience, a Bachelor’s in IT/CS/Engineering, and an active Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years supporting enterprise IT systems, cloud services engineering, or hybrid cloud environments.
• Hands-on with VMware products, IaaS/PaaS, automation, scripting (PowerShell, Python).
• Active Top Secret level clearance; US citizenship required.
• Experience with IaC using Terraform, ARM/Bicep; security and governance focus.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and configure local, hybrid IaaS and PaaS environments with VMware.
• Lead cloud migrations, optimize resource lifecycle, and enforce governance.
• Develop DR/COOP plans, monitoring, and cost controls; ensure uptime and security.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and produce runbooks and diagrams.
