Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an Infrastructure Solution Architect to support the U.S. Department of State’s DT program. You will design and deploy infrastructure services across a hybrid enterprise, emphasizing VMware, IaaS/PaaS, and automation.

You will shape solutions, oversee operations, and mentor teams while ensuring alignment with security and governance standards. The role requires 8+ years of enterprise IT experience, Top Secret clearance, and hands-on cloud

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline required.
8+ years relevant experience supporting enterprise IT systems, cloud services engineering, or hybrid cloud environments.
VCP-VCF Architect or other cloud provider certifications.
Hands-on expertise with VMware products (vSphere, ESXi, VMware Aria Operations, etc), IaaS/PaaS, virtual networks, automation, scripting (PowerShell, python).

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, and configure local, hybrid IaaS, PaaS networks and cloud-based solutions.
Use IaC tools (ARM/Bicep, Terraform) to automate deployments in hybrid/multi-cloud environments.
Develop governance, tagging, RBAC, policy enforcement, cost controls, and operational standards.
Support Platform Services including Converged/Cloud Infrastructure, Data Protection, Monitoring, Security.
Design Disaster Recovery (DR) strategies and COOP exercises.
