Job summary

Abbott Park is seeking a skilled HVAC/R Mechanic II to perform maintenance on a wide range of HVAC/R equipment in production facilities and laboratories. You will troubleshoot, repair, and install systems, potentially lead a small crew, and ensure adherence to GMP and safety standards.

Applicants should have at least 3 years of HVAC/R experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and prefer an associates degree. EPA refrigerant certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: Must have a high school education or equivalent.
• Background: 3+ years of formal training and work experience in HVAC/R maintenance.
• EPA certification for refrigerant reclaiming preferred.
• Associates Degree preferred.
• Ability to work with little supervision and provide good customer service.

Responsibilities

• Perform and understand maintenance on HVAC/R equipment in production labs and facilities.
• Lead a crew on larger projects and coordinate assigned work.
• Assist in ensuring GMP and safety policies are followed.
• Troubleshoot and install refrigeration equipment and accessories to Abbott standards.
• Work with CMMS for maintenance, PM, and related activities.
• Evaluate resources and make safe, policy-compliant decisions.
