University of Virginia is seeking an HVAC Mechanic or Senior HVAC Mechanic to support Facilities Management. The role involves installation, repair, and maintenance of a range of HVAC systems, with supervision by a supervisor and opportunities to train apprentices.

Senior HVAC Mechanics apply knowledge of codes, safety, and independent decision-making to ensure reliable service for UVA’s residential community. Eligible for UVA benefits and a thorough training program.

Qualifications

• Four years of experience in the HVAC trade.
• Journeyman or higher HVAC license; Valid Driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Perform HVAC installation and repairs, and preventive maintenance on various HVAC systems.
• Inspect, diagnose, and service air conditioning units, ventilation and refrigeration equipment.
• Train and oversee assistants and apprentices as needed.
• Ensure work complies with safety rules and codes (OSHA, NEC).
• Respond to emergency requests and communicate status to customers.
