Job summary

Town of Arlington seeks an experienced Lead HVAC Technician to maintain and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and energy management systems across town buildings. Responsibilities include troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems, and supervising one technician and vendors.

The position requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in HVAC, and licenses such as 608 EPA, MA Refrigeration, and a valid MA driver's license; Johnson Controls experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; 3+ years preferred in HVAC trade; Johnson Controls experience a plus.
• Massachusetts Driver's License; EPA license types I/II; Refrigeration Technician license as required by state law.
• Experience with building automation and energy management systems is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC, energy conservation equipment, and refrigeration systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, and control systems.
• Work under Building Automation Manager and supervise one full-time employee plus vendors.
• Prepare material and labor estimates for HVAC projects.
• Utilize CMMS to manage work orders and track maintenance activities.
• Ensure compliance with codes and safe working practices.
