The HVAC Senior Technician is responsible for servicing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining residential and commercial heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration (HVAC/R) systems. This role requires advanced technical expertise, strong troubleshooting skills, and the ability to mentor junior technicians while delivering exceptional service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, service, repair, and maintain residential and commercial HVAC/R systems.
- Monitor, program, and maintain energy management systems and associated controls.
- Operate and utilize diagnostic and testing equipment, including balometers, velometers, ultrasonic flow meters, pressure differential meters, and other specialized HVAC instruments.
- Accurately identify system issues and recommend effective repair or replacement solutions.
- Provide guidance, mentorship, and instruction to Apprentice Technicians and fellow team members as needed.
- Ensure all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with industry standards.
- Deliver outstanding customer service by communicating clearly with customers and addressing their questions professionally.
Required Licenses And Certifications
- Oil Burner License
- Universal Refrigeration Recovery Certification
- NATE Certification (Heating & Air Conditioning)
- Massachusetts Refrigeration License
Qualifications
- Extensive hands-on experience with residential and commercial HVAC/R systems.
- Strong knowledge of HVAC controls, energy management systems, and advanced diagnostic equipment.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make sound technical decisions in the field.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support less experienced technicians.
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills.
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
