Job summary

Kauai Air Conditioning & Plumbing is seeking an HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial systems. You will work independently, build strong customer relationships, and provide accurate estimates while following EPA 608 guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EPA 608 Certification (environmental compliance) required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with customers.
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively.
• Valid driver's license required.
• 1+ year HVAC service experience preferred.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work outdoors, on rooftops, and in cramped spaces.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair common AC system issues and components.
• Assist senior technicians on complex service calls to build skills.
• Perform preventive maintenance and service work: clean filters, coils, and drains.
• Take readings and communicate findings clearly to customers and office.
• Generate field estimates and present repair options to customers.
• Manage full service-call routes independently and handle after-hours calls as needed.
• Use EPA 608 compliant tools for refrigerant work.
• Mentor junior technicians on the jobsite.
• Document service calls thoroughly in the system.
