Job summary

Kauai Air Conditioning & Plumbing in Hawaii seeks an experienced HVAC Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain residential and light commercial systems. You will work independently on service calls, handle diagnostics, refrigerant work, and minor installations, and build detailed service-call documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• EPA 608 Certification (current and in good standing).
• Valid driver's license.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to relate with different personalities.
• Attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Minimum 1+ year HVAC service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Independently diagnose and repair common AC issues—boards, motors, capacitors, relays, sensors, thermostats.
• Perform complete preventive maintenance and service work including coils, filters, drains, and refrigerant checks.
• Take readings, communicate findings, and present options to customers.
• Leak detection and refrigerant work per EPA 608 standards; track quantities in Service Titan.
• Read electrical diagrams to support diagnostics and repairs.
• Mentor Maintenance Laborers and Technicians on the jobsite.
• Document service calls with diagnostics, parts, and photos; follow up with customers.
