Job summary

System One is seeking an experienced HVAC Retrofit Foreman to lead commercial retrofit and replacement projects across the Phoenix area. The role requires hands-on field leadership, supervising crews, coordinating subcontractors, and ensuring projects meet plans, specifications, and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has strong commercial HVAC installation/retrofit experience, reads mechanical drawings, and can manage field activities, schedules, and quality controls.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial HVAC experience.
• Proven experience leading HVAC installation or retrofit crews.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC systems and construction practices.
• Experience reading and interpreting mechanical drawings and specifications.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise HVAC crews on commercial retrofit and equipment replacement projects.
• Coordinate daily manpower, materials, equipment, and job-site activities.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, plans, specifications, and equipment schedules.
• Coordinate installation of rooftop units, air handlers, package units, split systems, heat pumps, and other HVAC equipment.
• Oversee installation and modification of ductwork, piping, controls, and related mechanical systems.
• Ensure work is completed according to project plans, specifications, schedules, and quality standards.
• Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and building representatives.
• Track project progress and communicate field conditions, delays, material needs, and potential issues to management.
• Identify and resolve field conflicts and constructability issues.
• Ensure crews have the correct materials, tools, drawings, and equipment needed to complete work.
• Perform quality-control inspections and verify installations before equipment start-up and commissioning.
• Assist with equipment start-ups, testing, commissioning, and project closeout.
• Maintain a safe, organized, and professional job site.
• Enforce company safety policies and ensure crew members follow OSHA and project-specific requirements.
• Train, mentor, and provide direction to HVAC technicians and installers.
• Maintain daily reports, time records, material tracking, and project documentation.
