Job summary

Walmart Chesapeake location seeks an HVAC/R technician to oversee installation and commissioning of systems across supermarket facilities. You will lead diagnostics, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with safety and refrigerant handling guidelines.

You will coordinate field teams, mentor technicians, manage parts inventory, and document work orders while adhering to OSHA and EPA standards. A strong emphasis on reliability, teamwork, and continuous improvement is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in HVAC/grocery rack refrigeration or 6 years with additional WV/EPA credentials.
• EPA Type I and II (or Universal) refrigerant handling certification.
• HVAC-R/Mechanical Journeyman where required.
• Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle report.

Responsibilities

• Oversees installation and commissioning of HVAC/R systems including ductwork and control panels.
• Leads diagnostics and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and refrigerant issues.
• Manages preventive maintenance programs to extend equipment life and reduce downtime.
• Coordinates service calls and regional workloads to meet priorities and timelines.
• Trains technicians on safety, control troubleshooting, and system operations.
• Maintains vehicle and equipment in good condition and ensures proper documentation.
