Job summary

Leonardo DRS in High Ridge, MO is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC&R product development for commercial and defense markets, including heat exchangers and air handling systems. You will drive new product development, support legacy lines, and create documentation for testing and production.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of project leadership in mechanical equipment design. Proficiency with Creo/AutoCAD and MS Office is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field.
• 5+ years of experience leading engineering projects, especially new product development (NPD) or R&D.
• Experience with mechanical equipment, assemblies and components, including machined and sheet metal parts.
• Ability to write and create technical documentation.
• Proficient with MS Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects for development and support of HVAC&R equipment and heat exchangers.
• Manage engineering scope, budget, schedule, and communications with customers.
• Evaluate design approaches to meet production requirements and investigate solutions.
• Design and size components, perform performance predictions, and support testing and qualification.
• Develop engineering drawings and BOMs for fabrication and prototyping.
