Job summary

Leonardo DRS in Missouri seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead HVAC&R product design for commercial and defense markets, including heat exchangers and air handling systems. You will drive new product development, support legacy products, size components, and contribute to testing and documentation.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering and 5+ years of engineering leadership, with experience in HVAC&R equipment, CAD tools, and defense-focused design.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years leading engineering projects, preferably NPD/R&D.
• Experience with mechanical equipment, assemblies and components.

Responsibilities

• Lead projects for development and support of HVAC&R equipment (heat exchangers, air handling).
• Manage engineering projects with schedule, cost, and resources.
• Evaluate design approaches to meet production requirements and solve problems.
• Prepare technical documentation, BOMs, and test plans.
• Review customer specs and develop compliant designs for bids.
