Job summary

Leonardo DRS Naval Power Systems is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to design and develop HVAC&R products for commercial and defense markets, including heat exchangers, air conditioning, refrigeration, and air handling systems.

You will support product development, legacy support, component sizing, documentation, testing, and production, with a focus on meeting program requirements and helping ensure successful program execution.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with at least 2 years of experience.
• Experience with mechanical equipment, assemblies, machined components, welded structures and sheet metal parts.
• Ability to write and create technical documentation.
• Competent with MS Office (Word, Excel, Visio, Project, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Support development of mechanical equipment, heat exchangers, HVAC&R systems.
• Create manufacturing drawings and BOMs; prepare documentation for fabrication and delivery.
• Perform engineering analyses for sizing, thermals, fluids and packaging.
• Develop technical documentation, manuals and procedures; support testing and qualification.
