Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Cost Estimator to develop capital cost estimates for a range of building projects, including plumbing, HVAC and fire protection systems. The role supports projects nationwide, with a focus on remote/hybrid work arrangements.

Responsibilities include evaluating design documents, proposals, and drawings, presenting capital costs to clients, and maintaining thorough project documentation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5-15 years of estimating and construction experience.
• Progressive cost estimating experience in Plumbing, Fire Protection and HVAC systems.
• Proficient use of MS Office products along with estimating and quantity takeoff software(s).
• US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop Plumbing, HVAC and Fire Protection capital cost estimates for a variety of building projects.
• Review contractor proposals for various procurement types.
• Review and validate change orders.
• Interface with external clients in the presentation of capital costs.
• Maintain organized and detailed files, project records and logs.
• Attend project meetings as required.
