Job summary

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Mechanical Cost Estimator to develop capital cost estimates for a variety of building projects across the country, with the role primarily remote and support from local offices. You will review designs, apply means and methods, build work breakdown structures, perform takeoffs, and interface with clients and contracts teams to deliver accurate cost estimates.

Requirements include 5-15 years of estimating experience in Plumbing, HVAC and Fire Protection, high school

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5-15 years of estimating and construction experience.
• Progressive cost estimating experience in Plumbing, Fire Protection and HVAC systems.
• Proficient use of MS Office products along with estimating and quantity takeoff software(s).
• US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop Plumbing, HVAC and Fire Protection capital cost estimates for a variety of building projects.
• Review contractor proposals for various procurement types.
• Review and validate change orders.
• Interface with external clients in the presentation of capital costs.
• Maintain organized and detailed files, project records and logs.
• Attend project meetings as required.
