Job summary

Jacobs seeks a Senior Mechanical Cost Estimator to develop Plumbing, HVAC and Fire Protection capital cost estimates for diverse building projects nationwide. The role is primarily remote with a hybrid policy, focusing on reviewing designs, proposals, and drawings to assess cost risk and prepare reliable estimates.

You will build project work breakdown structures, perform takeoffs, review SOWs, and interface with clients while maintaining detailed records and attending meetings as required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 5-15 years of estimating and construction experience.
• Progressive cost estimating experience in Plumbing, Fire Protection and HVAC systems.
• Proficient use of MS Office products along with estimating and quantity takeoff software.
• US Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Develop Plumbing, HVAC and Fire Protection capital cost estimates for various building projects.
• Review contractor proposals for different procurement types.
• Review and validate change orders.
• Interface with external clients in the presentation of capital costs.
• Maintain organized project files, records and logs.
• Attend project meetings as required.
