Job summary

Washoe County School District is seeking a skilled HVAC Mechanical Technician to perform senior-level maintenance and repair across boilers, HVAC systems, and related equipment, ensuring safe, efficient operation.

You may work day, swing, or graveyard shifts as needed, provide technical guidance, and help prepare equipment for inspections, with emphasis on reliability and compliance. This role supports the ESP/Classified - Maintenance team within Facilities.

Qualifications

• Senior-level maintenance and repair experience preferred
• HVAC and boiler system familiarity
• Safety testing and diagnostic abilities

Responsibilities

• Inspect boilers and HVAC systems to ensure proper operation
• Perform maintenance on boilers, HVAC systems, and related equipment
• Repair electrical and pneumatic control systems and safety devices
• Test and treat hydronic systems and water circuits
• Repair refractories and boiler components and maintain associated records
• Coordinate and oversee equipment preparation for inspections and certifications
• Provide technical guidance and preventative maintenance training to staff
• Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and district standards
• Identify and prioritize equipment repair and replacement needs
