Job summary

Washoe County School District seeks a Preventive Maintenance Technician responsible for a wide range of preventive maintenance tasks on district buildings and equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and roofing. The role may require day, swing, or graveyard shifts as needed.

Qualified candidates will have documented building maintenance experience, plus HVAC apprenticeship or diploma credentials. Certifications in AHERA and OSHA Lead/Asbestos training will be provided within the first

Qualifications

• Two (2) years of verifiable building maintenance experience that includes major heating systems, electrical distribution and plumbing.
• Equivalent to completion of an approved apprenticeship program in HVAC or an HVAC diploma program at a tech school.

Responsibilities

• Make inspections of all District facilities as assigned.
• Perform preventive maintenance on building systems and equipment on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Inspect, repair, and clean roof systems and components.
• Ensure life safety systems are operable per manufacturers’ specs.
• Diagnose and perform preventive maintenance on motors and control circuits.
• Maintain and update preventive maintenance reports on schedule.
